AcademicAs a passionate advocate of lifelong learning, I've been a student with the Open University since 1994, collecting bachelors degrees in Psychology and History, and an MSc in Psychological Research Methods along the way. Over the years I've studied psychology, history, linguistics, and business management. Currently I'm studying for an MBA, but prior to this my main academic interest was in computational cognitive psychology. My MSc project was a recreation of Plaut & Booths 2000 paper on semantic priming (Abstract) using representations of English words rather than abstract bit vectors. Once the MBA is complete (expected 2010) I hope to go back to studying psychology of language, possibly researching alternative HCI technologies.
